Read the quotation line by line
Separate the base enclosure from doors, glazing, transfer devices, filtration, lighting and controls. Identify optional equipment and the quantities included. Review whether drawings and operating information are part of the same price.
Then examine items beyond the factory package: packing, delivery, unloading, installation, local connections and agreed testing. A low equipment total can be offset by substantial work outside the quote.
Ask for the commercial basis alongside the technical scope. Currency, delivery terms, taxes and validity affect comparison, but they do not replace the need for a common configuration. Obtain a project quotation before treating any figure as a purchasable offer.
Configuration decisions
| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Equipment lines | Match each item to the approved configuration and quantity. |
| Optional lines | Separate necessary selections from genuinely optional extras. |
| Site and logistics | Identify delivery, handling and installation responsibilities. |
| Commercial basis | Record currency, terms, taxes and quotation validity. |
Is a price per square metre enough to compare offers?
It can hide different heights, equipment quantities, environmental requirements and site scopes. Use it only alongside an itemized quotation based on comparable assumptions.
