Select the seat-height range and electrical resistance specification for the workstation; whole-chair performance depends on the complete configuration and floor contact.
Seat height, floor contacts and ESD requirements can be configured for your work area.
The FH-080921 combines a molded PU seat and back with a foot ring and fixed floor contacts. It suits workstations where the operator needs a defined sitting position and foot support while handling components or carrying out inspection.
Foot support at a raised working position
At a raised bench, the correct hand position can leave the operator's feet without comfortable support. The circular foot ring gives a place to rest the feet as the sitting position changes around the column. It should be considered together with the selected seat-height range and the space below the bench.
The molded backrest supports an upright working position without armrests occupying the approach to the bench. Leave room for the operator's knees, the foot ring and the base; a chair that fits through an aisle can still be too large to tuck beneath a workstation.
Choose the floor contact deliberately
The pictured version uses fixed glides. This arrangement suits a station where the chair is placed and remains in one working zone. If the task requires frequent rolling between adjacent fixtures, compare the caster-equipped FT-080921 instead.
Textured PU for everyday handling areas
The molded seat has no separate upholstery seam across its upper working surface. Its texture and rounded edges are useful features to evaluate during a seating trial, especially when operators wear different garments. Cleaning should reach the textured recesses and the joint beneath the seat without flooding the height-adjustment mechanism.
Use a cleaning agent compatible with the chosen PU formulation. A material that feels suitable when new may respond differently to repeated solvent exposure; test the actual cleaning routine before committing a large workstation fleet.
Qualify the chair as part of the workstation
The conductive path must continue through the chair's connected components to a suitable grounded floor. Conductive upholstery alone is insufficient. This assembly-based approach is described in Desco's chair-grounding guidance.
For purchasing, provide the bench working height, preferred sitting range, floor finish and required chair resistance test. Evaluate the chair at the actual station with normal footwear and garments, and retain the site's personnel-grounding procedure for handling exposed sensitive components.
