The caster-equipped product shown is the configuration described here. Confirm wheel type and the complete chair-to-floor electrical path before ESD use.
Caster, height and seating choices can be matched to the workstation and floor.
This FT-080921 configuration combines a textured molded seat and backrest with a caster base. It is intended for bench tasks that require the chair to move within a defined work area without lifting the seat between positions.
Movement within one workstation
Casters allow the operator to move the chair between a central task position and nearby trays or controls. The textured PU surface and separate backrest retain the basic seating arrangement of a production chair while making floor movement part of the specification.
The useful travel distance depends on the workstation. Position the bench, parts supply and inspection equipment so that repeated movement is short and unobstructed. A chair is not a substitute for a material trolley when assemblies must be transferred between areas.
Wheel selection changes how the chair behaves
| Workplace condition | Selection concern |
|---|---|
| Smooth, level floor | Control rolling behavior at the working position and when sitting down. |
| Joints or cable covers | Check whether wheel size and tread can cross the route without abrupt movement. |
| ESD flooring | Specify electrical continuity through the wheel assembly and verify the installed chair. |
| Frequent cleaning | Choose wheel materials and accessible surfaces compatible with the cleaning agent. |
Inspection goes beyond the seat surface
Wheels can collect fibers and small debris that make movement uneven. Inspect the caster mounts, tread and swivels along with the seat and back connection. Replace damaged components with parts that preserve both mechanical fit and the required electrical characteristics.
Chair grounding depends on an uninterrupted route through its parts and the floor interface; a drag chain alone cannot turn an ordinary chair into a qualified ESD chair. See the grounding explanation from Desco. Select and document the complete configuration before putting it into an ESD protected area.
