Coordinate the material route and the clean boundary
Draw the load path from the upstream supply point to the workstation. Include containers, transfer mechanisms and any buffer positions. Identify where equipment spans the enclosure and where an opening changes state during operation.
Coordinate the mechanical interface with the automation integrator. Conveyor heights, guarding, access and service removal can affect the wall and floor arrangement. Controls and interlocks must be defined by the responsible system designers, not assumed to come with the room.
Keep maintenance and recovery tasks in the plan. A jammed container or equipment replacement may require access that is absent from the normal production drawing. The room package should support the agreed interfaces without claiming to supply an entire automated supply chain.
Configuration decisions
| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Load path | Show containers, transfers and intermediate holding positions. |
| Boundary opening | Coordinate equipment geometry and the changing enclosure condition. |
| Control ownership | Assign sequencing and interlock responsibilities. |
| Recovery access | Allow safe maintenance and removal of failed or jammed items. |
Does a modular-room package include automated supply equipment?
Only when that scope is explicitly agreed. The enclosure and environmental package should be coordinated with the automation equipment and its responsible integrator.
