Track the dependencies that control deployment
Separate the programme into requirements, coordinated design, component production, logistics, site integration and acceptance. Identify which decisions release the next stage. An unresolved equipment connection can delay several trades even after the walls are ready.
For biotechnology work, define process boundaries and the handling method before freezing transfer openings. Review utilities and exhaust requirements with the process team. Changes in these inputs can affect the layout, not just the connection details.
Compare proposed schedules using the same completion point. Delivery to site, mechanical completion and readiness for the intended process are different milestones. Ask each party to identify the information and site conditions needed for its milestone.
Configuration decisions
| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Requirements freeze | Confirm process boundaries and environmental objectives. |
| Equipment freeze | Provide dimensions, services, heat and maintenance data. |
| Site readiness | Coordinate local works and access before shipment. |
| Acceptance milestone | Define which checks and records are needed before intended use. |
What should a rapid-deployment quotation include?
Its assumptions, decision dates, supplied scope, site prerequisites and definition of completion. A short manufacturing duration is not the same as a short end-to-end deployment programme.
