A pocket filter needs more than a matching face size. The bags must have the space and operating conditions intended by the selected design. A deep filter squeezed against a coil, support or another filter can behave differently from the catalogue configuration.
Measure the whole filter section
Record the clear downstream space, nearby obstructions and the access route. Include the holder depth and the bag arrangement. Nominal pocket length is not the only consideration: the filter must be installed and removed without snagging or damaging its media.
Use the manufacturer's required orientation and mounting instructions. Do not assume that a bag arrangement can be rotated freely simply because its outer frame fits the opening. The intended support and airflow direction should be visible in the installation record.
Compare performance at the working flow
Specify the relevant filtration classification and the airflow through each element. Initial resistance, dust-loading behaviour and final operating limits belong to that selection. A bank with uneven flow distribution can load elements differently, so investigate the section arrangement if some filters repeatedly fail or soil much faster than others.

Investigate wet or collapsed bags
Unexpected moisture, contact with nearby surfaces or damaged seams warrants review of the installation and operating conditions. Replacing the element without addressing the cause can reproduce the same failure. Check upstream water sources, shutdown conditions and the selected media's permitted environment.
During replacement, inspect the holding frame and sealing surface. A new filter cannot correct a missing gasket or distorted clip. Keep the clean and dirty sides distinct during removal and follow the site's handling procedure for collected contaminants.
