An ultrasonic cleaner is selected around a loaded cleaning process: the parts, contamination, liquid chemistry, basket and subsequent rinsing. Tank capacity alone cannot establish whether a machine will clean a particular batch. A large tank with crowded parts can leave important surfaces inaccessible to the liquid and cavitation.
Start with the part inside its basket
Record the largest part, the normal batch quantity and how components can be supported without touching each other. Compare the basket's usable dimensions and immersion depth with the proposed load. Nominal tank volume includes space that may be unavailable beneath the basket or above the working liquid level.
Blind holes, overlapping plates and trapped air deserve particular attention. The fixture should expose the surfaces that matter and allow liquid to enter and drain. BANDELIN's ultrasonic guidance explains why parts should be supported in a basket rather than placed on the vibrating tank floor. A sample trial with the actual fixture is more useful than comparing cabinet litres.
Three settings that must work together
- Chemistry: choose a preparation compatible with both the soil and every exposed part material, including coatings, adhesives and seals.
- Temperature: establish the allowable process window from the part and cleaning preparation; a higher temperature is not automatically a better result.
- Ultrasonic action: assess frequency, operating mode and distribution with the loaded arrangement. Heater wattage and ultrasonic output describe different functions.
For production equipment, ask what happens to removed contamination. Filtration, surface oil removal and scheduled bath changes address different contamination patterns. A recirculation loop must also fit the cleaning sequence; it is not a substitute for knowing when the bath has reached its useful limit.
The cleaning line extends beyond the tank
A satisfactory finish can still be lost when dirty rinse water dries on the part. Define rinse quality, number of rinses, drying method and the handling route to the next operation. A benchtop machine may suit small intermittent batches; a larger installation may need lifting assistance, several baskets and separate rinse and drying positions. Compare batch turnaround, including heating and handling, rather than the ultrasonic timer alone.
Agree on an acceptance method for the part: visible residue, a specified cleanliness measurement or a downstream process result. Ultrasonic cleaning by itself does not establish sterilization. Use only liquids and operating arrangements approved for the equipment, particularly where solvents are involved.
Compare benchtop ultrasonic cleaners with industrial cleaning equipment. Send shengtongjh the part drawing, soil description, basket arrangement and required finish through the project inquiry so the equipment and handling arrangement can be matched to the application.
