A textile contact surface for dry handling
Jersey fabric finger cots place a soft textile layer between the finger and the part. They are a different construction from the thin rolled nitrile and latex sleeves. Evaluate the fabric where operators handle dry components and want localized finger coverage without enclosing the hand.
Look closely at contact with small edges and corners. The fabric must follow the finger without catching on the part or leaving loose material at a precision placement point. Inspect the contact surface during use for wear and contamination.
Where the fabric construction changes the choice
A textile sleeve is not a sealed barrier against liquids. If the task involves liquid exposure or needs a defined protective barrier, select a product with the required performance documentation. For a smooth elastomer contact surface, compare nitrile finger cots or latex finger cots against the same workpiece.
For dry assembly, qualify the cleanliness of the supplied fabric and establish when cots must be changed. The listed pack is measured by mass; specify any required counted-pack format separately. Do not use this product as an ESD control without an independently established electrical specification.
