Disposable ESD gloves provide a fresh contact surface for a defined period of work. Their value depends on selecting an electrically suitable film and changing it at the right process points, rather than simply wearing one pair throughout the shift.
A fresh glove starts a controlled use cycle
Single-use gloves make it possible to replace the working surface when a task changes or contamination is suspected. That benefit is lost if the same glove handles outer cartons, touches a shared control panel and returns to a sensitive assembly without a defined change decision.
Write the issue procedure around the movement of people and products. Locate unopened stock where it can be accessed without bringing unsuitable outer packaging onto the product-handling surface. Keep the selected sizes available so operators are not forced to compensate with a poor fit.
Define the change points before calculating consumption
Before the handling stage
Use the approved formulation and size, with clean, dry hands as required by the site's procedure. Follow the area's donning method so the working fingertips are not unnecessarily touched during issue.
During the task
Replace a torn glove and follow the process rule for suspected contamination. Include transitions between dirty packaging and exposed product, breaks, and changes in handled material. A glove can need replacement without a visible hole.
After removal
Do not return a removed single-use glove to the clean dispenser or treat washing as permission for reuse. Dispose of it according to what it contacted and the applicable workplace procedure.
Match the film to the hand and sleeve
Film that is too loose at the fingers can fold against a small latch or make a component harder to release. Excessive tightness can restrict comfortable movement and stress the glove during use. Trial sizes while performing the task, not only while standing with an open hand.
Cuff reach is a separate choice. A longer film glove may provide the sleeve overlap needed by the handling procedure, but it is not a larger palm size. Confirm the glove's fit with any approved underglove or garment arrangement and preserve the intended personnel-grounding contact.
Qualify the exact disposable formulation
General-purpose nitrile gloves are not automatically suitable for ESD-sensitive electronics. Ask for evidence that identifies the proposed film and evaluate it in the site's relevant worn-glove arrangement. Do not transfer a test report from another colour, formulation or product family without a documented basis.
Powder-free describes the absence of added donning powder; it does not by itself establish cleanroom suitability, sterility or chemical protection. If controlled-area contamination limits apply, review ESD cleanroom gloves alongside the electrical requirement.
Make stock counts match use
Distinguish individual gloves from pairs when estimating demand. Include the team's size distribution and planned changes rather than multiplying a carton count by an assumed shift duration. Keep stock in its specified storage conditions and retain lot identification.
