| System connection | Conventional zone, addressable loop or supervised wireless system; selected as a compatible family |
| Power options | Nominal 24 V DC system supply or specified primary batteries for wireless devices |
| Housing / mounting | Moulded polymer cover; ceiling mounting on a matching base |
| Indication / notification | Status LED; separate sounder, sounder base or integral alarm according to system design |
| Site conditions | Indoor operating environment matched to the selected detector's temperature and humidity limits |
| Supply scope | Detector, compatible base, identification schedule and selected installation accessories |
Dimensions identify different construction options. Head dimensions exclude the base unless stated. The selected detector, base and control equipment must have documented compatibility.
The detector selection, mounting accessories and supply package can be customized for your building and approved fire alarm system.
A smoke detector is one part of a fire warning arrangement. For a factory office, warehouse support area or commercial building, the useful choice depends on how smoke reaches the sensor, how the signal reaches the control system and how occupants receive the warning.
Separate detection from notification
A system detector senses a fire-related condition and reports it to a control panel. It may have an indicator but no built-in horn. A self-contained smoke alarm combines sensing and local sound output. Buying a detector head alone therefore does not establish an audible warning arrangement for a room.
In a commercial installation, the panel, sounders, power supplies and any monitoring connection are part of the selection. A similar-looking replacement can fit the ceiling while failing to communicate with that system.
Choose around the room's normal activity
Optical sensing is useful where smoke particles entering a chamber can be detected reliably. Steam, airborne process dust and aerosols can interfere with that task. Moving the head to an arbitrary quieter corner may reduce unwanted activation while leaving the intended area poorly protected.
Have the responsible fire-system designer assess the ceiling geometry, ventilation and expected fire characteristics. Harsh process areas may need a different detector technology or protection arrangement. A standard point smoke detector is not automatically suitable for explosive atmospheres or a ventilation duct.
Three purchasing decisions that prevent a mismatched delivery
The control platform
Specify the existing panel and its supported detector family. For a new installation, settle the system architecture before comparing individual head prices.
The complete mounting assembly
Allow for the base, back box, cable entry and any sounder or isolator function. The visible detector diameter is not a drilling template or a promise of base interchangeability.
The maintenance route
Choose an accessible installation with an identifiable device record. Replacement availability, approved testing methods and service access matter throughout operation.
Build the order around the approved system
For a wired project, compare the connection requirements on the hardwired smoke detector page. Where new cabling is difficult, a supervised wireless solution may be appropriate after a site assessment; it is not simply a wired head with its cable removed.
shengtongJH coordinates equipment sourcing around the selected configuration. Include the building use, destination, panel details and detector schedule in an enquiry so the quotation can distinguish complete assemblies from spare heads. Product approval and commissioning evidence must relate to the actual supplied equipment and installation.
