Stone wool and rock wool describe the same core family in this panel range. The procurement task is to define the complete metal-faced product and keep that configuration consistent from the initial order through later replacement or expansion.
Start with the service environment
A distribution building, food-packing area and equipment enclosure can use the same broad core family while needing different surface and joint choices. State moisture exposure, cleaning routine and whether the panel is inside or outside. These conditions guide the facing and finishing details supplied with the insulation.
Where noise separation matters, consider the entire room boundary, including doors, ceilings and service openings. A stone wool core does not by itself establish the sound reduction of a finished room. Request data for the relevant assembly if an acoustic target forms part of the project.
Keep the approved construction identifiable
Record the core description, face material and gauge, finish, thickness and profile section in one configuration sheet. Associate it with the panel schedule and order revision. This gives production, inspection and installation a common description of the required product.
For a repeat order, compare the new requirement with that record. A visually similar panel may have a different mating profile. A colour name alone may not provide a satisfactory match to weathered material or a previous coating batch.

Prepare for maintenance
Retain identification for panels beside busy doorways and traffic routes. Make future replacements possible by knowing the piece dimensions and connection arrangement, rather than relying on a general factory description.
