Quality in a stone wool sandwich panel should be visible in a defined specification and a consistent delivered product. A neat top surface is only one part of the inspection.
Look at the faces
Inspect dents, scratches, coating damage and surface distortion. Protective film can conceal marks, so agree how representative inspection areas will be checked. Judge the finish under suitable lighting and against the agreed appearance criteria rather than an unapproved photograph.
Look at the edges
Check joint shape, damaged corners and the fit between representative pieces. A crushed mating edge can affect installation and sealing even if the central face looks untouched. End protection matters during loading as well as at the site.
Check the construction
Confirm the stated core and facing arrangement. Investigate visible gaps, loose material or separation where the construction is exposed. Do not infer bond strength or a performance classification from a visual check alone.
Check the records
Relate the panel schedule, packing labels and relevant reports to the actual order. A report for a different thickness or edge construction does not establish the supplied configuration's performance.
Agree acceptance before the delivery arrives
Dimensional tolerances, surface acceptance and sampling arrangements are easier to manage when defined before production. Decide which issues require replacement, repair or further technical review. Avoid improvising acceptance limits while the installation team is waiting.
Compare quantities by panel size and location, not only by total area. A correct total area can still contain the wrong length distribution. Check accessory quantities separately because missing trims may not be obvious in the panel bundles.
Preserve quality after unloading
Provide supported storage and protect unfinished edges from water and impact. Move panels using suitable handling methods and keep cutting debris off coated surfaces. A sound panel can be damaged between acceptance and installation if the route or storage arrangement is unsuitable.
shengtongJH can coordinate a supply brief with defined materials, sizes and inspection points. Surface finishes and panel dimensions can be selected around the operating environment and project requirements.
