Plan the inspection station before the enclosure
Record the size of the item, its fixture and the movement needed for inspection. Confirm the instrument supplier's requirements for lighting, temperature, vibration or other conditions relevant to the measurement. Do not assume particle control resolves every inspection limitation.
Place preparation and handling positions so that items can move to the inspection station without unnecessary disturbance. Reserve access for calibration and instrument service. Review whether room lighting could interfere with the inspection equipment.
To shorten installation uncertainty, freeze the equipment interfaces and verify the site before manufacturing release. Coordinate the enclosure, power and environmental services as one installation package with a defined acceptance point.
Configuration decisions
| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Inspection method | Identify the measurement and instrument conditions. |
| Item handling | Plan fixtures, preparation and movement to the station. |
| Lighting and services | Coordinate room features with the instrument requirements. |
| Installation readiness | Resolve dimensions, utilities and access before delivery. |
Does a cleanroom improve every optical-inspection result?
No. It addresses part of the environment. Instrument setup, illumination, vibration, temperature and the inspection method may also affect the result and must be assessed separately.
