A separator HEPA filter uses a supported pleated pack, but replacement suitability depends on the complete element and housing interface. The presence of separators does not by itself specify filtration class, temperature capability or the resistance at your operating flow.
Identify the existing pack and frame
Record the frame material, dimensions, depth, gasket position and any protective face guards. Confirm the removal direction and the method by which the element is compressed against its sealing surface. A replacement must fit the retention system as well as the opening.

What if a different construction is offered?
A supplier may propose a mini-pleat replacement with the same external dimensions. Evaluate it as a selection change: seal contact, rated airflow, resistance, permitted environment and evidence all need comparison. A similar size or advertised efficiency does not prove interchangeability.
Keep the original operating duty on the comparison sheet. A low initial pressure drop is useful only at an identified flow, and the fan must still meet the system requirement as the filter loads. Include any operating or final-resistance limits supplied for the selected element.
Protect the media during handling
Plan how the packaged filter reaches the housing and where it is unpacked. Lift and support it as directed by the supplier rather than contacting the media face. Inspect packaging damage and the accessible element condition before installation; a damaged filter should not be accepted merely because the frame remains square.
Retain the element's identification and factory test documentation. Where the installation requires site leakage or system checks, assign that responsibility separately. The supplied filter report and the condition of the completed installation answer different questions.
