A sealed linear light combines illumination with an enclosure intended to limit entry of specified contaminants. The housing, diffuser, gasket, cable entries and installation detail all contribute. A seal around the lens alone does not establish the performance of the complete fitting.
Define what reaches the luminaire
Dry dust, occasional wiping and intensive wet cleaning are different conditions. Specify the required ingress protection for the installation and confirm what part of the assembly it covers. An IP rating does not, on its own, establish resistance to every detergent, solvent or disinfectant.
Choose the housing and lens materials for chemical exposure, impact and temperature. A clear plastic diffuser and a metal body may have different maintenance limits.
Compare light where the work occurs
Wattage describes electrical input, not the illuminance delivered to a work surface. Evaluate the lighting layout using photometric data, mounting height and room geometry. Glare, shadows and colour rendering may matter as much as total output for inspection or assembly.
Keep the driver's electrical requirements and dimming arrangement explicit. Replacing an old fluorescent fitting with LED is not simply a tube-count comparison; distribution, controls and service parts may change.
Preserve the enclosure during maintenance
Allow access to clips, seals, drivers and any replaceable light module. Repeated opening must not leave the gasket pinched or cable entry unsealed. Define whether access is from the room or above the ceiling, and coordinate supports and penetrations accordingly.
Signify's cleanroom luminaire information distinguishes housing protection and front or rear maintenance options. Verify these details for the offered fitting. A sealed luminaire is not automatically suitable for hazardous areas or a rated ceiling assembly.
Send the lighting layout, cleaning method and mounting detail to shengtongJH. Housing, light output and control configurations can be coordinated for the actual workplace.
