Mist Showers: Integrate Wetting with the Gown-Removal Procedure

A mist shower may support a defined garment-removal procedure by wetting suitable contamination before the garment is removed. It should be selected within the facility's containment assessment, not presented as a universal decontamination or sterilisation device.

Identify what is on the garment

Describe the material and the relevant exposure hazards. The suitability of wetting depends on that material, the garment and the approved removal process. A liquid-compatible powder task differs from substances that react with moisture or require another control method.

The responsible safety and process personnel should establish the objective and acceptance evidence. Do not assign a removal efficiency or exposure reduction solely from chamber dimensions or nozzle count.

Design the exit sequence

Show where the user enters, where wetting occurs and where contaminated garments are removed and collected. Include the handling of gloves, footwear and waste according to the approved procedure. The chamber should not force a user to cross back through an unsuitable route after gown removal.

Door controls, indications and emergency release must fit that sequence. Provide enough space for the intended movements without unnecessary contact with chamber surfaces.

Water management is part of containment planning

Identify drainage, collected liquid and the cleaning method. The resulting liquid may contain the handled material and must be managed accordingly. Avoid treating it as ordinary wastewater without the site's assessment.

Klimaoprema's mist-shower information describes wetting deposited powder on protective clothing. The required containment performance still needs evidence for the selected material, garment and operating procedure; it should not be inferred from an unrelated installation.

Keep nozzle access, maintenance and cleaning practical. Changes in garment type or handled substance should trigger review of the original process selection.

shengtongJH can coordinate mist-shower configurations against the approved exit procedure. Send the garment, material and waste-handling requirements to define the chamber and service scope.
