A HEPA terminal housing connects the duct system, filter and room boundary. Its filter interface and service provisions should be chosen before the ceiling is closed, because inaccessible clamps or test points are difficult to correct later.
Begin at the seal
Identify whether the selected element uses a gasket or gel interface, where that seal sits and how it is engaged. Top-gel, side-gel and gasket arrangements require compatible housing geometry. A nominal filter face size does not establish compatibility.
Confirm the permitted filter depth and retention method. A deeper pack can alter the clearance needed to remove the element or the position of the sealing surface. Keep the housing and filter drawings together in the approved equipment schedule.
Put service access on the ceiling plan
Locate room-side access panels, clamps and any test connections. Check that luminaires, equipment and ceiling supports do not obstruct them. If access is required from above, include the route and safe working arrangement in the project scope.
Camfil's CleanSeal installation and operating manual includes product-specific filter and clamp considerations. Use the instructions for the actual selected housing rather than applying a generic tightening method to every seal.
Distinguish balancing from acceptance
An airflow adjustment device helps establish the selected flow. Installed filter leakage testing, where required, checks a different aspect of the assembly. Provide the appropriate access and agreed test method for both tasks; one successful measurement does not stand in for the other.
At the duct and ceiling interfaces, define support and sealing responsibilities. The housing should not rely on a decorative ceiling panel to carry an unintended load. A sealed filter-to-housing joint also does not eliminate leaks around the housing perimeter.
Review HEPA terminal housing options with the selected filter and ceiling arrangement. shengtongJH can coordinate the interfaces and documentation. Send the seal type, flow, duct connection and access requirements to establish the complete terminal assembly.
