A filtered garment cabinet supplies filtered air to a defined storage space. Its role is to manage the storage environment around suitable garments. It does not clean a dirty garment, validate a laundering process or make every item placed inside sterile.
Air must reach the stored items
A filter and fan at the top of a cabinet are only part of the arrangement. Hanging density, shelves and packed bags can block the intended air path. Select internal dimensions and loading limits around the garments rather than filling every available gap.
Understand where air enters, passes through the storage space and leaves. A quoted filter grade describes the filter's classification; it does not by itself establish a cleanliness class throughout a loaded cabinet.
Terra Universal's filtered garment cabinet combines a filter/blower with a defined storage arrangement. For any offered cabinet, obtain acceptance criteria for the actual construction and loading condition; the filter label alone does not describe the storage environment.
Door use is an operating condition
Frequent opening introduces air exchange and disturbs the storage environment. Consider how many people use the cabinet at shift change and whether a large shared opening is practical. Separate access sections may help organise use, but they also add joints, hardware and cleaning surfaces.
Keep clean storage and used-garment collection distinct according to the facility procedure. Do not rely on the cabinet airflow to recover garments exposed to an unsuitable handling route.
Provide a maintenance route
Specify access to prefilters where fitted, final filters, the fan and controls. Filter replacement should be possible without dismantling unrelated furniture. Include how operating status is indicated and how loss of airflow is recognised.
Identify any optional UV equipment separately; it requires its own exposure controls and cannot substitute for cleaning or verified garment processing.
