A cleanroom intercom lets people communicate across a controlled boundary without opening a door merely to exchange information. Its value depends on who needs to speak, who receives the call and whether speech remains intelligible under the actual operating conditions.
Write the call route before selecting the station
List the required room-to-room and room-to-supervisor connections. Decide whether a direct-call key, directory or group call best matches each task. Define what happens when the intended recipient is unavailable and how an unanswered call is indicated.
Check the station's supported platform and the functions available in the selected mode. Zenitel's cleanroom intercom documentation distinguishes SIP operation from functions available through its own system platform. A familiar network connector does not mean every calling or supervision feature will work with the site's server.
Evaluate speech where people actually work
Ventilation, process equipment, masks and the distance from the microphone affect the conversation. Place the station around the intended speaking position rather than the easiest cable route. Increasing speaker volume can create new problems with echo or speech from an adjacent station.
Compare hands-free conversation with a controlled talk mode where appropriate. Establish how staff know the microphone is active and when a call has ended. Include representative operating noise in acceptance checks; a quiet-room demonstration is a different condition.
Coordinate the physical and network boundaries
A cleanable front panel still needs a suitable wall interface, sealed edges where specified and accessible service connections. Confirm the cleaning method for the complete station, including its overlay and joints. Flush mounting requires a compatible back box and enough wall depth.
Document network access, configuration ownership and the power arrangement. If communication must continue through an outage, the supported path includes the network equipment and call service, not only the station. Arrange fault reporting and a practical response for a failed endpoint.
For cleanroom intercom systems, send shengtongjh a room and call-route plan with the existing communication platform, mounting conditions and operating needs.
