SU-004 combines a fabric optical-cleaning tip with a white shaft. The extended form offers a different handling and reach option from the shorter blue-handled optical models.
Reach without losing tip control
Extra shaft length can keep the operator's hand clear of a crowded connection panel. It also places the hand farther from the working tip, so support the approach and avoid side loading. The white shaft should not be used as a lever against the adapter opening.
Verify that the head reaches the intended cleaning surface without the neck or shaft bottoming out. A tool that appears long enough overall may still have the wrong contact geometry for a particular connector.
Protect the clean tip
Take each swab by its shaft and keep the tip away from gloves, bench surfaces and the outside of the port. A tip contaminated during handling can add material to the connection instead of removing it.
Confirm the result
Use the approved inspection equipment before and after cleaning. Replace the swab for another connection; do not carry a used head from port to port. Follow the optical device's specified fluid and cleaning procedure.
Handle colour distinguishes this pictured option but is not a universal indicator of connector family, cleanliness grade or electrical properties. Include the model and actual connection details when specifying the tool.
