ST-004 is a paper-stem swab with tapered tips at both ends. Its pointed profile provides local contact around exposed detail features, with a central stem for handling.
Define a direction along the edge
The pointed profile is useful for following an accessible boundary. Move along that boundary toward an open area instead of repeatedly pushing residue into the corner. Keep the point covered by intact head material and do not use the stem as a scraper.
On a rough or threaded surface, first establish whether the head can move without snagging. A pointed swab can enter a feature that its wider section cannot safely pass, so check withdrawal as carefully as entry.
Grip
Hold the middle of the stem and keep both tips away from the glove.
Contact
Use light pressure with the approved fluid where required. Avoid soaking the paper stem.
Change
Replace the tool when a tip is loaded or damaged. Keep used swabs separate from the clean pack.
The opposite end is available only if it has stayed clean. For critical separation between cleaning stages, use separate swabs rather than relying on two ends of the same tool.
