CA-002 is a paper-stem swab with rounded absorbent tips at both ends. It offers a straightforward format for local wiping and controlled application or collection of compatible cleaning fluid.
Use the rounded surface with light pressure
A rounded tip provides a gradual contact profile on an accessible surface. Present the absorbent head to the part and keep the stem away from the finish. Increasing pressure can flatten the head and change the contact area without improving removal of a stubborn residue.
Choose the cleaning fluid for the contaminant and workpiece, then confirm that the complete swab remains suitable during the required exposure. Do not use soaking as a substitute for a controlled wetting step.
Plan the two ends
- First pass
- Use a clean tip to lift or dissolve local residue according to the work instruction.
- Second contact
- Use the opposite end only if it has remained untouched and the process permits it. Otherwise take a new swab.
- Disposal
- Keep the used tool out of the clean supply and do not return either end to the fluid bottle.
