Flat glove width is a product dimension, not a direct hand-circumference measurement. Use the selected manufacturer's hand-sizing method and confirm fit during the actual task.

The size distribution and approved packing selection can be customized for your workforce without changing the required glove cleanliness specification.

Men working in controlled environments need gloves that fit their own hands and tasks. A men's purchasing description does not determine glove size, finger length or cleanliness; the same qualified glove family can serve different wearers when the fit is correct.

Start with the hand, not a default large size

Two operators with the same job title may need different palm widths and finger proportions. A broad palm does not always mean long fingers, and a larger glove can leave loose film at the fingertips. Treat each person's fit as an individual selection instead of ordering one size for all male staff.

Use the proposed glove supplier's measuring guidance to choose the initial trial size. Keep the distinction between a relaxed glove's flat width and the measurement of a hand. They describe different things and should not be substituted directly in a purchase order.

Use the work movement as the fit test

During fine handling

Pick up the normal small component or operate the usual tool. Check whether loose fingertips interfere with the grip and whether the thumb web is pulled tight. A glove that feels acceptable with the hand flat can become uncomfortable when pinching or reaching.

During repeated gripping

Open and close the hand through the actual working range. Look for excessive tension, cuff movement and loss of feel. Do not stretch a smaller size simply to produce a tighter appearance.

With the full clothing arrangement

Include the approved gown sleeve and any required inner glove in the trial. Additional layers change the available space, friction and donning effort. Increasing size without checking finger control can solve one problem while introducing another.

At issue and replenishment

Keep sizes clearly separated and accessible. When the correct size runs out, an operator should not have to choose between an oversize glove and an overstretched one.

Keep cleanliness constant across the size range

A larger size is not a higher protection grade. Require the same approved material family, cleanroom packaging and relevant lot documentation for each size in the order. If a required size is sourced from a different family, assess that substitution before routine use.

For a cuff that recedes during work, investigate both the garment interface and glove length. The 300 mm nitrile cleanroom gloves page explains coverage separately from hand size. shengtongJH can organise a size assortment around your trial findings and purchasing schedule.
