Passage sizes are clear W × H in millimetres. Leaf sizes, outside frame and construction opening are established separately on the selected assembly drawing.

Leaf arrangement, vision panels and impact protection can be customized for the actual traffic route and cleaning conditions.

Double-Action Doors swing through the opening in either direction, then return toward their closed position. They suit repeated movement between packing rooms, workshops, stores and service corridors where stopping to pull a conventional door interrupts the route. Double action describes the movement; the opening can have one leaf or a pair.

Follow the load through the doorway

Measure the loaded trolley, including handles and anything projecting beyond its deck. Then consider the approach: a trolley turning immediately before a door needs more manoeuvring space than one travelling straight through. A wide pair can serve larger loads, while a single leaf reduces the number of moving edges in a narrow pedestrian route.

The opening is shared by people approaching from opposite sides. Place vision panels where operators can see the route before entering, including when a trolley is in front of them. Keep stored goods away from the viewing area and the swing arcs. Transparent glazing helps visibility but does not replace a traffic arrangement for blind corners.

Frequent hand passage

A relatively light leaf with a controlled return reduces the effort needed for repeated pedestrian use. Handle position, hinge resistance and the return setting should be considered together, so the door does not rebound into the next person.

Regular trolley contact

Contact surfaces should meet the trolley at its actual bumper height. Replaceable protection localizes wear and avoids repeated damage to the main door skin. A bumper does not make every leaf suitable for powered vehicles or high-speed impact.

Wet cleaning

Specify the exposed faces, edges and pivot fittings for the wash regime. Water trapped around a bottom fitting can become a recurring maintenance problem even when the broad leaf surface is easy to wipe.

Choose separation that suits the process

Two-way traffic doors can reduce the time an opening remains completely unobstructed, but people and loads still displace the leaves. Flexible meeting seals are not equivalent to a tested airtight closure. Where a pressure cascade, odor separation or contained process requires a reliably sealed boundary, assess a latched door or a controlled airlock instead.

A fire-rated double-action assembly is also a separate specification. Adding a spring hinge to an ordinary leaf does not provide a fire classification. The operating convenience must remain compatible with any required fire, access or escape provisions.

Maintain the return path

Check for floor settlement, worn pivots and torn edge protection when leaves stop returning consistently. Restore alignment before increasing return force; extra force can conceal the cause and make passage harder.

Define the contact duty

Provide trolley photographs, load dimensions, movement frequency and the cleaning method. For a door specifically centred on repeated trolley contact, also see the existing Double-Action Impact Door.

Leaf arrangement, vision panels and impact protection can be customized for the actual traffic route and cleaning conditions.
