For a pure rock wool panel requirement, define what pure refers to. A metal-faced sandwich panel contains facings and bonding materials as well as insulation; the phrase should identify the main core rather than imply that the entire product contains only rock wool.
Write the material requirement so it can be checked
Identify the main insulation core and separately state any permitted edge fillers, profiles and facing materials. If polyurethane is not acceptable anywhere in the construction, include that restriction explicitly. Saying pure rock wool without defining the edges can leave an important part of the order ambiguous.
A panel photograph helps identify the broad construction, but it cannot prove every hidden material. Use the approved section, bill of materials and relevant product documentation to establish the supplied build-up.
Core arrangement and bonding
Uniform core placement and a sound bond help the skins and insulation function together. Visible gaps, loose sections or damaged edges deserve investigation before installation. Appearance alone does not establish bond strength or a structural rating.
Panel geometry
Length, width, squareness and joint shape influence assembly. A consistently sized panel can still be incompatible with a different connection profile, so compare the mating section as well as the nominal dimensions.
Do not turn a material description into a performance promise
A rock wool core is relevant to thermal and fire design, but the complete construction still needs appropriate assessment. The presence of rock wool does not assign a fire-resistance duration to a wall or permit a particular unsupported span.
For internal rooms, choose the facing around cleaning and impact. For an external enclosure, include weathering, support and perimeter details. The same main core can be used in different wall arrangements with different design obligations.
