Panel dimensions, surface finish and connection details can be configured for your application.
Wall insulation is most useful when the material choice fits the complete wall. Metal-faced panels can combine insulation and a finished surface, while the core and connection details determine which configuration suits the project.
When insulation and lining are one package
A sandwich panel can provide a finished wall face at the same time as insulation. This suits projects where a durable, accessible surface is useful, such as industrial partitions and service enclosures. Plan the joints, base and openings as part of that finish.
When the existing wall stays
Adding insulation to an existing wall requires a review of moisture, support and usable space. A metal-faced panel is not interchangeable with every board intended for a concealed wall cavity. Choose the build-up before choosing the product thickness.
Compare cores on the requirement that matters
Rock wool and rigid foam panels offer different combinations of thermal, fire and construction characteristics. Evaluate the particular assembly against the project requirements; do not assume that a core's description establishes the performance of the finished wall.
Where limited space makes thickness important, compare declared thermal data on a consistent basis. Where fire separation is required, review the tested assembly and its support and joint limits. Acoustic performance is another separate requirement and should not be inferred from insulation thickness alone.
Close the gaps in the specification
Carry the insulation and sealing line around openings and structural junctions. A good panel can still produce a poor wall if the perimeter is left unresolved. Locate heavy fittings and service openings before installation so they receive suitable support and closures.
For core-specific choices, explore rock wool sandwich panels or PU and PIR sandwich panels. shengtongJH can coordinate dimensions, finishes and accessory requirements for the selected wall application.
