|---|---|
| Nominal bore | 5 in = 127 mm |
| Size alternatives | 4 in / 5 in / 6 in, selected to match the branch duty |
| Metric interface | Confirm 125 mm versus 127 mm collar compatibility |
| Duct construction | Lightweight foil laminate with reinforcing steel-wire helix |

| Fastening | Appropriate small-diameter clamp, seal and collar |
| Pressure requirements | Operating and start-up pressure matched to the liner construction |
| Suitable air | Ordinary ventilation air; process contaminants require separate material selection |
| Support needs | Gentle bends and support clear of sharp service brackets |
The bore does not establish the delivered airflow. Match the complete route to the required air volume and available fan pressure.
Small-bore cut lengths, insulation and adapters can be customized for machinery enclosures, commercial terminals and industrial ventilation branches.
5 inch flexible air duct provides a nominal 127 mm airway for compact ventilation connections. It can fit a small terminal or equipment air port, but a small physical footprint does not make it suitable for every airflow requirement.
Small ports need deliberate sizing
A compact machine enclosure or small ventilation terminal may have a connection that looks easy to serve with a narrow flexible hose. First establish the required air volume and the resistance of the connected component. Forcing a larger airflow through a small bore raises velocity and can make the branch noisy or pressure-hungry.
If the existing equipment opening is fixed, a larger upstream duct with a properly selected transition may still be useful. It cannot remove the restriction of the equipment port itself, so the complete path needs to be considered.
Do not confuse nearby metric sizes
A nominal inch size and a nearby metric size are not a connection drawing. Check the actual spigot and the permitted fit of the selected hose. Stretching a reinforced liner over a mismatched collar can damage its edge or leave an insecure connection. Use a suitable adapter where needed instead of relying on a wider clamp to compensate.
Short does not mean folded
Compact installations are especially vulnerable to a sharp fold behind the equipment. Reserve enough space for the duct to turn without flattening. Where there is no bend clearance, a formed elbow may occupy the available space more reliably than a soft hose pressed into a corner.
Match the hose to what the machine releases
General ventilation and conditioned-air connections differ from extraction of metal chips, abrasive dust, solvents or very hot vapours. Describe the air stream before choosing the lining. A foil ventilation product is not automatically a process-extraction hose. For an order through shengtongJH, include the connection dimensions, route and air conditions so the duct, adapter and fixing method can be considered together rather than purchased as unrelated parts.
