Dimensions and configurations can be customized for your application.

Combine the fan, filter and control point in a local air-supply module. Select the unit together with its ceiling interface, return-air route and service access.

A supply module within a complete air system

An FFU draws air through its fan and final filter, then delivers it towards the working area. Integrating these components allows the supply to be distributed across a ceiling or positioned over a local enclosure.

The unit still needs an adequate inlet and a route for supplied air to leave or return. Filters and fans cannot compensate for an obstructed plenum or a room with an unsuitable return arrangement. Review the surrounding system before selecting the number and position of modules.

Match the interface before counting ceiling openings

The housing, filter and ceiling support need compatible dimensions and a deliberate sealing arrangement. A unit resting in a grid without the intended seal can allow air to bypass the final filtration boundary. Plan the support, perimeter joint and filter-change access as part of the installation.

Above the ceiling, allow space for the inlet, electrical connection and maintenance. A cable tray, duct or structural beam directly over the fan can restrict intake. Below it, tall equipment and overhead services can interrupt the clean-air path even when the FFU itself operates normally.

Individual control

Separate adjustment can suit a small installation or a local work zone. Keep settings identifiable and avoid uncontrolled changes that upset the balance with neighbouring units.

Grouped control

Centralized control is useful when many units serve a shared area. Divide groups according to process zones and operating requirements, while keeping individual units accessible for fault finding and service.

Choose the operating point, then verify it

The air delivered depends on the fan setting and the resistance of the filter and connected air path. As filters load, the relationship changes. Select a drive and control arrangement that supports the intended operating condition rather than assuming that a stated motor power defines useful airflow.

AC and DC options also need to fit the control strategy and electrical installation. Compare complete operating requirements, including adjustment, access and replacement, instead of treating motor type alone as a guarantee of energy savings.

Keep filtration and room performance separate

A filter's specification describes one component. Room cleanliness also depends on leakage, people, process emissions, supply coverage and the return route. Establish the required filter specification and verification method, then assess the installed work area under its intended conditions.

An FFU does not independently supply fresh air, cooling or humidity control. Coordinate these needs with the building system. After filter service or changes to ceiling layout, verify airflow and sealing before restoring the affected process.

Housing, control groups and installation interfaces can be customized for the application. Share the ceiling layout, room function and control requirements to define the unit arrangement.
