The final panel and casing form a matched selection. A replacement of similar face size is not automatically compatible with the seal, depth or operating resistance.

A fan filter unit with HEPA filter combines the air-moving housing and its matched final panel. Buying them together helps resolve compatibility, provided the filter grade, dimensions, seal and fan duty are specified as one assembly.
Make “with HEPA filter” precise
The package should identify which filter is supplied and how it seals to the casing. Confirm the panel's grade, frame dimensions and depth, together with its retaining method. A generic statement that a housing is suitable for HEPA filtration does not confirm that the filter is actually included.
The fan selection must account for the chosen panel. A different media construction can change resistance even when its outside dimensions are unchanged. Compare the matched duty rather than combining separate maximum figures from a fan and filter brochure.
Inspect the housing
Check for transport distortion at the seating edge, loose electrical parts and damage around mounting points. Confirm that the controller and ordered accessories are present. Retain the assembly identity and wiring information before equipment is lifted into place.
A damaged casing can prevent even seal contact. Correct the condition before installing the panel rather than trying to compensate by excessive clamping.
Inspect the filter
Check the protected media, frame and perimeter seal while handling the panel by its frame. Match its identity to the delivery documents. Where filters arrive separately, keep them protected until the installation area is ready.
Do not press on the pleats to remove a panel from packaging. Marking or creasing the media can create a problem that is difficult to assess by ordinary visual inspection alone.
Finish the installation as a complete air path
Seat the filter using the specified method and check that retaining parts do not damage its frame. Set the operating airflow after the assembly is installed. Complete any required installed integrity assessment and retain the results with the filter identity.
