5009D combines polyester and nylon in a microfiber knit for cleaning fingerprints and oily films from suitable glass and precision surfaces. The straight texture provides close contact while the selected cleaner helps release the soil.
Lift the film instead of spreading it
Fingerprints and oily residues can leave a larger smear when the same cloth face is used repeatedly. The fine contact surface of 5009D is suited to evaluating this type of cleaning, provided the liquid can release the contaminant without damaging the substrate.
Use a small controlled quantity of cleaner, lift the loosened film and finish with a separate clean face. Inspect after evaporation; a temporarily clear wet surface can hide a remaining deposit.
Optical surfaces
Check coating compatibility and remove abrasive particles before rubbing. A soft fabric description does not guarantee scratch-free contact on every lens or coating.
Precision electronics
Keep the cleaning liquid out of joints and openings. If electrostatic performance is required, specify and verify it separately; microfiber construction alone is not an ESD rating.
Confirm the finished pack count at ordering because the source descriptions differ for the large sheet format. The accepted count should be fixed in the supply specification.
