Control liquid delivery
Wetting the roll heavily is not a substitute for matching the cloth to the residue. Establish where liquid is applied, how it spreads across the strip and how long the wet section remains at the contact point. Uneven dosing may leave one side of a panel wet while the other side receives too little cleaning liquid.
Assess the actual process liquid on a sample, including any effect on the product coating and the cloth edge. The fabric description alone does not establish compatibility with every solvent formulation.
Keep the web flat
Check guide alignment and winding direction with the intended slit width. A loose edge, wrinkle or uneven take-up can change contact as the roll is consumed. Observe the line beyond the first few cycles, when the supply and take-up diameters begin to change.
