Use a hollow mineral-core panel for modular partitions that need defined internal reinforcement and a smooth metal surface.
Understand what the hollow core changes
The internal cavities reduce the amount of solid core material while retaining ribs between the faces. Those ribs and the perimeter frame contribute to how the panel resists local pressure. This matters when locating an opening, fixing a bracket or choosing where adjoining panels meet.
A hollow panel should not be treated as a solid block that accepts a fixing anywhere. Shelving, door closers and other repeated loads need a defined fixing zone or an independent support. Establish those positions while the room is being laid out so that reinforcement is incorporated where it is useful.
Close the ends
Any exposed cavity can collect installation debris or admit cleaning liquid. Close cut ends around doorways and service penetrations with suitable trims and continuous seals. Keep the closure flush enough to wipe, without sharp edges or deep sealant recesses.
Support the opening
A large glazing or transfer opening removes part of the panel's internal structure. Frame its perimeter and support the inserted assembly. Hanging a heavy item from one metal face can cause movement at the seal even when the opening looks correct on installation day.
Install for a maintainable room boundary
Set the base track level and check the alignment as panels are connected. Forcing a panel into a twisted run can leave irregular joint widths and make door-frame installation harder. Seal connections after the surfaces are prepared, then inspect the wall from both sides before concealing services.
Specify the cleaning regime and humidity exposure when choosing facings and seals. Surface finish, core edge protection and joint workmanship all influence durability. Hollow construction alone does not establish water resistance, an acoustic rating or a fire rating for the installed enclosure.
Panel widths, reinforced fixing positions and framed openings can be customized for the partition layout and equipment interfaces.
