Move bulky items on one unobstructed platform instead of lifting them through the restricted opening of a tiered cart.
Keep the loading space open
A platform trolley provides a single low deck for boxes, containers or equipment that would not fit comfortably between the shelves of a service cart. The open loading area makes it easier to approach the item from more than one side and can reduce the height through which a heavy object must be lifted.
Check the complete load footprint, including projecting handles, hoses or protective packaging. The load should remain inside a controlled envelope and stable during turns. If items can slide, consider edge restraints or a suitable securing arrangement rather than relying on friction against stainless steel.
Choose wheels for the route
Floor joints, thresholds and lift entrances affect rolling resistance. A wheel that is easy to maneuver on smooth flooring may perform poorly at a raised transition. Select wheel diameter, tread material and directional behavior for the actual route, including any cleaning chemicals that contact the wheels.
Two braked casters can hold the cart during loading on an appropriate level surface, but they are not a substitute for a route designed to avoid uncontrolled movement. Keep the handle reachable without placing the operator's hands between the trolley and a wall.
Load distribution
Tell us whether the item has a flat base or small concentrated support feet. Frame and deck design must suit that distribution as well as the total weight.
Controlled-area movement
Where carts cross hygiene boundaries, define the wheel cleaning and transfer procedure. A stainless deck does not make an unrestricted route acceptable.
Inspect wheel fixings, brakes, handle joints and deck edges during maintenance. Platform dimensions, restraints and the rolling arrangement can be customized to your load and transport route.
