162BFCTD combines a small rounded foam paddle with an extended PP handle. It helps reach recessed work areas while keeping the operator's hand outside the immediate cleaning zone.
Reach changes how force is applied
An extended handle can access a deep recess without bringing the operator's glove close to the part. It also increases the distance between the hand and the contact point. A small hand movement can therefore produce a larger movement at the tip, particularly when the shaft is angled.
Support the hand where practical and use short, visible strokes. The swab is a cleaning tool, not a lever for scraping a recessed deposit. If the head cannot be seen or withdrawn freely, improve access before continuing.
Keep the narrow head useful
The modest paddle width allows a focused wiping area at the end of the long shaft. Check the recess for steps, shoulders or sharp edges that may snag the foam during withdrawal. Entry clearance alone does not establish a safe cleaning path.
Manage liquid at depth
Use a lightly wetted head when the approved process requires fluid. Excess liquid is harder to recover from a deep cavity, and squeezing the foam against the end wall can release it where inspection is difficult.
For repeated maintenance
Define the insertion depth and stroke direction in the work instruction. Discard the swab after the designated area is cleaned, rather than carrying material from one cavity to another. A shorter handle is preferable when the extra reach is unnecessary and closer hand control is available.
