070BFRTD is a compact foam swab with a rounded cylindrical head. Its blunt end provides a broader contact area than a pointed tip when cleaning accessible surfaces, small housings and shallow recesses.
A rounded end for supported wiping
The cylindrical head places foam around the end of the handle. It can contact a surface with its side or rounded end, depending on the approach angle. This is useful when a sharp point would concentrate force in too small an area or when a shallow cavity needs a gentle wiping action.
Keep the motion short enough to remain on the intended cleaning area. Rolling the swab slightly between passes exposes a different part of the head; continuing with a visibly dirty face can redistribute the material just removed.
Foam and fabric make different contact
- Rounded foam
- The compliant head follows minor changes in surface shape. Control compression so that liquid is not squeezed into nearby openings.
- Fabric alternative
- A fabric-covered head presents a different texture and edge construction. Select it through residue-removal and surface-compatibility trials rather than by appearance alone.
- Small openings
- Check the largest head section against the opening, not only the rounded end. The swab should enter and withdraw without snagging.
Keep the dispenser clean
Dispense fresh cleaning fluid onto a clean head or into a controlled working container. Returning a used swab to the supply bottle introduces removed contamination into the next cleaning operation.
