Use an enclosed linear luminaire in areas where dust, moisture and routine cleaning make an open fitting inconvenient.
Describe the environment behind the name
Tri-proof is a broad product description, not a substitute for a specific protection rating. A lighting selection should state whether the exposure is airborne dust, condensation, occasional splashing or a defined cleaning process. The enclosure, seals, clips and cable entry all contribute to how the complete fitting withstands that environment.
Choose materials around the actual chemicals present. A diffuser that performs well in an ordinary utility room may be unsuitable near aggressive cleaning agents or process vapours. Clear information about those exposures helps avoid early cracking, discoloration or seal damage.
Spread light along the working route
Linear fixtures suit aisles, service corridors and production support areas. Select spacing and orientation around the work surface and equipment shadows. Longer fittings can reduce the number of mounting points, but each run still needs a lighting layout rather than a simple wattage-per-room estimate.
Check how it will be maintained
Allow space to release the cover and reach the driver. A fixture installed tightly against pipework may be easy to mount and difficult to repair. Keep clips and seals intact when opening the enclosure.
Specify the complete configuration
Confirm the ingress rating, mounting method and electrical options for the selected assembly before use in a demanding area. Dimming and emergency operation require compatible components and wiring. A tri-proof enclosure is not automatically suitable for explosive atmospheres.
Fixture length, output, diffuser and control options can be customized around the location, cleaning regime and maintenance access.
