Provide a broad illuminated surface that fits a coordinated ceiling module and supports comfortable general lighting.
Match the panel to the ceiling system
A square or rectangular light panel should fit the ceiling's module and support method. Nominal dimensions describe the format; the actual frame, cut-out and mounting hardware need to be coordinated with the selected ceiling. A fitting designed to rest on a grid is not automatically suitable for a cut opening in a sandwich panel.
Consider where the driver will sit and how it will be replaced. A thin visible panel can still require service space above it. Keep that space accessible without disturbing unrelated ceiling services.
Create comfortable light where people work
The large diffuser spreads the visible light source over a broad area. Its position and optical characteristics influence glare and reflected brightness, especially around stainless tables, glass and computer screens. Plan the layout around these surfaces rather than placing fixtures solely at equal distances.
For visual inspection, specify the required illumination and colour rendering. A colour-temperature label does not describe every aspect of colour quality. Compare the complete optical and electrical configuration before selecting the panel.
Specify cleanability separately from light output
Flush edges, a suitable perimeter seal and a cleanable face can simplify routine wiping. A standard office panel should not be assumed to meet the room's sealing or cleaning requirements. Confirm the complete fixture's construction and protection level for the intended location.
For emergency or dimming options, provide compatible wiring and control components and establish how they will be tested. Panel size, diffuser, mounting frame and electrical options can be customized around the ceiling and the working environment.
