Frame dimensions are actual component dimensions. A matching nominal width does not establish compatibility with an existing cabinet.
Frame dimensions, media grade, sealing and protective grilles can be customized to the verified cabinet interface.
A laminar flow hood HEPA filter is a service component. Replacing it should restore the cabinet to its intended operating condition, rather than introduce a different resistance or sealing arrangement.
Find the cause before ordering a new cassette
Reduced air speed can arise from a loaded inlet prefilter, a blocked intake, a fan fault or a change in controller setting. A damaged final filter may instead leak while the overall airflow appears normal. These problems require different responses.
Review the cabinet's recorded operating baseline and service history. A resistance reading is meaningful only with the corresponding air volume and measurement points. It does not prove that the filter media and perimeter seal are intact.
Resistance affects the fan
A replacement with more pleated media may offer a different pressure drop, even when its frame fits. The existing fan and speed control must still reach the specified work-zone duty. Increasing fan speed to compensate can increase noise or disturb uniformity if the cabinet was not designed for that setting.
Supply the selected airflow when comparing pressure-drop data. Avoid comparing one filter at a low test flow with another at the cabinet's full operating duty.
The sealing edge affects bypass
Continuous gasket contact prevents unfiltered air from travelling around the cassette. Flattened gaskets, damaged clamp surfaces and gaps at corners can defeat an otherwise suitable filter.
A gel-sealed filter needs the matching housing geometry. It cannot simply replace a compression-gasket unit because the face dimensions happen to match.
Identify
Record the old frame, depth, sealing side, airflow direction and number of cassettes. Photographs of the seat and clamps help resolve an incomplete part label.
Replace
Use qualified service appropriate to the cabinet and its previous use. Handle the frame, protect the fragile media and keep the seal clean during fitting.
Re-establish performance
Check the installed seal, applicable integrity requirements and airflow before resuming sensitive work. Store the new operating measurements with the service record.
Do not wash the final media
Some inlet prefilters are washable; a delicate final HEPA element should not inherit that cleaning instruction. Wiping, vacuuming or wetting the pleats can damage the media without leaving an obvious mark. Follow the actual supplied filter's handling limits.
If the equipment is a biological safety cabinet or has handled hazardous material, its filter service requires a suitable containment and decontamination procedure. This product page concerns component selection, not permission to open contaminated equipment.
