Make quotations technically comparable
A quotation at warmer leaving-water temperature can look stronger than one at a colder duty. Different ambient temperatures, glycol concentrations or fouling allowances also change the result. Issue the same duty schedule to each proposed source and compare the selected output and electrical input on that basis.
Do not assume a model containing a number represents that many US refrigeration tons. Ask for thermal capacity in kW and a clear selection condition. A larger compressor designation is not a substitute for complete-unit performance information.
Build details
Compare heat-exchanger materials, coil access, cabinet protection and the arrangement of service components. A familiar compressor brand does not establish the quality or suitability of the whole assembly.
Operating evidence
Distinguish a controller demonstration from a measured performance test. Define the test condition, measurements and acceptance limits when a witnessed or documented test is required.

Record the accepted duty, components, dimensional limits, controls and documentation before placing the order. Agree how changes will be reviewed and what evidence accompanies dispatch. This reduces the risk that the equipment received is technically different from the version that was compared.
