Confirm the dimension order, bore, outside dimensions, covered length and core interfaces on an approved drawing. Material data depend on grade and conditioning.
Sponge dimensions, core arrangement and material grade can be customized for the process.
The PVA sleeve absorbs water while the tube core provides support and location. This format uses a different nominal sleeve designation from the 40-series roller and should be matched to the available machine clearance.
Set the clearance with conditioned material
Confirm the sleeve diameter and contact setting in the moisture condition specified for operation. A dry PVA roller should not be installed and compressed as though it were already softened for service.
Hydrate the sleeve fully using the approved procedure. The source guidance specifies a minimum 30-minute soak and checking for hard regions before use; the actual preparation needs to suit the supplied grade and assembly.
Keep the water-removal path effective
The roller's absorbency must be paired with a way to remove collected water. Review the squeeze or renewal arrangement, the liquid load and the condition of the opposing contact surface.
Inspect the sleeve and core connection during shutdown. Agree a storage routine that prevents uncontrolled drying without allowing stagnant, contaminated storage water to become a problem for the next run.
Material data
| Tensile strength | 420 kPa |
|---|---|
| Elongation | 250% |
| Porosity | 90% |
| Water-retention value | 1100%; test basis unspecified |
