Confirm the dimension order, bore, outside dimensions, covered length and core interfaces on an approved drawing. Material data depend on grade and conditioning.
Sponge dimensions, core arrangement and material grade can be customized for the process.
The long PU roller is designed around a broad continuous contact span. Its end-to-end size differs from the shorter-overall-length formats, making the core projections an important part of replacement selection.
Measure the mounting relationship
Check the covered length, full length and both end interfaces on the existing assembly. A roller can have the right contact span yet fail to fit if the core projects differently into the supports. Confirm drive, bearing and retention details where applicable.
Look for uniform contact across the width
A long sleeve needs correct alignment and support. During commissioning, compare the surface condition near both edges and at the center. Uneven removal may point to deflection, wear or a pressure imbalance.
Plan removal access so that the roller can be handled without bending or dragging the sponge over surrounding hardware. Store replacement assemblies supported and protected from contamination. Confirm the PU grade with the liquid, temperature and cleaning schedule used in the line.
Material data
| Hardness designation | 5–70; test scale unspecified |
|---|---|
| Pore diameter | 15–100 µm |
| Tensile strength | 120 kPa |
| Porosity | 75–90% |
| Water-retention value | 300–400%; test basis unspecified |
| Heat-resistance values | 130 °C in air; 100 °C in water |
These material-level values support grade comparison; they are not guaranteed finished-roller test results. Confirm the test method, conditioning and allowable operating conditions for the selected grade. Chemical compatibility must be assessed for the actual fluid, concentration and temperature.
